Call Of Duty WWII And Destiny 2: 2017 Sales Records

From Cristoforo Prodan

Polygon notes that Destiny 2 players can no longer access certain end-game content without purchasing the Curse of Osiris DLC first (and presumably future DLC as well). End-game content, such as Nightfalls and the Raid, have seen their base power level requirements increase, destiny2Mix.Com with Nightfalls now requiring players to have a 270 Power Level. While they're still available to the general public, the Nightfall's Prestige variant, which previously required Power Level 300, now requires 330 gear, a level only people who purchased the DLC can obt

Call of Duty 's billion-dollar sales figures come as little surprise. The series reliably performs remarkably well. Destiny 2 was a slightly riskier project — a follow-up to a new, expensive, and divisive intellectual property — and Activision has reason to be happy with its results thus far. The game, however, has experienced a fair share of controversy — Bungie's handling of in-game progression and downloadable content has left many Destiny 2 players upset (and the developer apologizing). Activision has similarly come under scrutiny for the loot box mechanics of Overwatch , a game developed by Blizzard, one of its subsidiaries. But luckily for Activision, the brunt of player backlash has been directed toward EA, its primary publishing rival, due to Star Wars Battlefront 2 's loot boxes . And so, with a strong year soon to be behind it, Activision has plenty of momentum heading into 2

It includes: economy updates (vendors & acquiring their gear, tokens, legendary shards), investment updates (new reward systems for weapons & armor) gameplay updates, and more. (1/2)— Luke Smith (@thislukesmith) November 25,

The Call of Duty series has long been a powerhouse in the industry, but last year's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was considered a relative commercial failure. With WWII , though, Activision has bounced back in a major

"For instance, the microtransaction engine may match a more expert/marquee player with a junior player to encourage the junior player to make game-related purchases of items possessed/used by the marquee player. A junior player may wish to emulate the marquee player by obtaining weapons or other items used by the marquee play

Bungie's reputation with gamers is hanging by a thread judging by how they've been treating their consumer base lately. And the problem is that this isn't anything new for them... or for Activision. The developer employed the same shady tactics in the first Destiny game, and they got away with it, for the most part, which is why they've brought the same mechanic back for the sequel. But now that the gaming industry is under fire for its predatory tactics, with EA bearing the brunt of the industry's consumer backlash , Bungie deciding to use the same mechanics for Destiny 2 may just tip their fan base against t

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: WWII and Desti ny 2 are North America's best-selling console games of 2017. The games were two of the publisher's flagship titles for the year, and have performed exceptionally well, with WWII bringing in more than $1 billion worldwide since its release in early Novem

Call of Duty WWII __ developer Activision have been granted a patent for a new matchmaking system - one that analyzes player behavior and tweaks their gaming experiences to encourage microtransactions. Loot Boxes and in-game purchases have become increasingly controversial, with more triple-A games releasing with some variation of this component. The recent beta for Star Wars Battlefont II raised the issue of how monetized loot boxes have become problematic. Likewise, the full release of Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been criticized for being pay-to-win, with a Loot Chest system that allows players to use real-world money to purchase followers, gear, and even

While Creutz's analysis offers a financial perspective on the matter, it is no surprise to anyone involved in the gaming industry that microtransactions are unpopular. Recent releases such as UFC 3 , FIFA Ultimate Team and Middle Earth: Shadow of War all drew fire from fans and game critics alike for introducing microtransaction-based mechanics. Most gamers are not pleased at the idea of paying full-market-value for a video game but being denied access to content that is only accessible to those with more mo

Curse of Osiris comes on the heels of Bungie suffering overwhelming backlash for rigging Destiny 2 's XP system , with regard to players earning Bright Engrams post-Level 20, thus forcing them to " fix " the system. But they failed to mention if they would make it up their mistake to players by compensating them with in-game rewards that they lost out on. Unfortunately, Bungie seems to be doing the exact opposite, as they're now blocking previously available end-game content behind

The Prometheus Lens weapon contains Prismatic Inferno, which means it fires "a solar trace beam that generates a damaging heat field that grows while the weapon continues to fire." What's more, kills obtained with the Prometheus Lens replenishes the weapon's ammo and even extends the beam its
